Prior to the 1904 season, the athletic field undergoes a renovation to allow USC to host football games on campus. Bleachers are built, and the field is renamed Bovard Field. Capacity is further expanded to 12,000 a few years later when additional bleachers are brought in from nearby Fiesta Park.
